This is Sugar (2007 perlino filly), & her full sister Honey (2006 perlino filly).
We have had some unfortunate changes here on our little farm. We lost Annie, Crystal's 2008 filly, in July 2008 from an injury. Our Vet figures she sustained an injury to her neck during the night, probably from roughhousing with her brothers. She was unable to get up when we found her 1 morning. She tried valiantly for 2 days, we gave her constant care, but when she gave up her fight, we let her go to the Rainbow Bridge. Then we lost our beloved Fidget in Nov 2008 to a freak accident. She was gone when we got home from work, but we would not have been able to help her if we had been here. She died very quickly. I still can't talk about it, but it was something so freakish, that was absolutley no one's fault, it could happen to anyone.
I have not had the heart to update this site till now. Fidget was the heart & soul of our farm. She was the whole reason we started breeding. She was like no other horse I have handled. She touched so many lives, she was so memorable. two weeks after she died, a friend stopped by that I hadn't seen in a while. Her first statement was "Did you do something? Take down trees or something? Somethings different." We were standing in my driveway, & craig & I both said at the same time "Fidget's gone." She gasped & said "Your buckskin mare!" She felt the difference.
Mission Statement
We want to breed nice, all around horses. Our mares all have excellant performance conformation & movement & pedigrees. They also have good minds. The color is a bonus. They are bred to be reining horses, but even if you do not train any of our babies for reining or cutting, they will make wonderfull all around riding horses. They are very intelligent, like to please, and learn very quickly. We do not keep our babies stalled to prevent scrapes & keep them spotless. They are out 24/7 with access to shelter but are handled daily. We also socialize the babies with different horses so they learn manners. Our babies do not have any stress related habits & are healthy & well adjusted.
We are located in central North Carolina in a very rural area. We have been here for 14 years. I have been a horse owner for 26 years. We have been breeding horses since 2001. We are a small farm so we are very picky about the mares we have put in our herd, as well as the stallions we breed to.
Our philosophy about our babies is to let them be babies. We don't keep them stalled & under lights in the winter to keep their coats slick. They are out 24/7, depending on the weather. This way, they don't develop any of those unwanted traits. So, if you can look past the fuzz and mud on our happy babies to see their quality, this is the place to find a great one!
Call for info, or e-mail for pics on any of the horses that I may not have pics on of yet.
