I completely agree with both previous posts! Jo Ann Ely is the ONLY person I would let touch a wedding gown for alterations. She truly knows what she is doing and is highly skilled in construction. My dress was perfect. Also Jo Ann is very kind, patient and flexible!

I highly recommend Jo Ann Ely for bridal alterations. She is kind and professional and does beautiful work. She took time to figure out what alterations would make my dress work best for me and my venue and I never felt rushed at any of the appointments. My dress fit beautifully on my wedding day. Jo Ann is the ONLY person I would ever trust with a special item. She brought my wedding dress to life. She is so kind and thoughtful and really does a great job at walking you through the alterations process. I never had any doubt about her abilities. She had my dress done weeks before my event, and that was with added alterations!

Thank you so much for all your hard work on my wedding dress! I love how it turned out and best of all, my groom cried when he first saw me. He liked the embroidered piece you made and sewed in, thanks for that! It was nice to have something sweet and personal in the dress.
The bustle worked great for all the dancing! :) And I'm glad you suggested to keep the satin in the train, it really helped balance the entire dress. :)
It was comfortable and I had no problem moving around in it.

Mrs. Jo Ann does magnificent work! She did my wedding dress for me and had great ideas to even improve my dress. It was a gorgeous dress and Jo Ann just made it 10 times better, it was breath taking. I also just recently took my daughters prom dress to her, and once again, she didn't disappoint! It was so much better looking then the way we bought it. She can take a nice dress and make it look like a princess' dress. Prices are extremely reasonable, She gets everything done in a timely manner even when on a very short time schedule and She's a wonderful person as well, makes you feel like family. Highly recommended.

Jo Ann is very polite and has a very good knowledge of all types of fabrics.My daughter bought me a Maxi dress for summer and it is about 3 inches tooo long, You know that stretch fabric that is light and airy but if you try to hem it you get extra fabric where one side stretched more than the other. This hem was far better than I could ever attempt.This is one busy lady since its bridal season. BUT, she has mad skills and worth the wait.

Jo Ann is great! She did the alterations on my wedding dress and I could not be more pleased. She is knowledgeable, skilled, friendly, efficient and has very reasonable rates. Jo Ann is wonderful! My wedding dress had it all--ruffles, tulle, beading all over the bodice, and a couple of fit issues. Jo Ann fitted it perfectly for me and the workmanship was flawless down to the last bead. At my request she created a strap for it that was more tasteful than what I initially thought I wanted, and it looked like a natural part of the gown. Her prices were beyond fair, and the work was done quickly and beautifully. You won't find anyone better!

Thank you so much for doing such an amazing job on my bridesmaid dress. The dress is beautiful and fits me perfect now. Also you did an amazing job on my husband's suit jacket. He damaged the sleeve of his suit with a drill! Wow I didn't think it could be salvaged but you were able to mend it and it will be wearable for my sisters wedding! Thank you so much. I was really happy that you were able to alter my two pieces so fast and it was very affordable. I will highly recommend you to my family and friends.

I thought I was a superb seamstress before I met Jo Ann. She does her work in a timely professional way being sure that the garment constructed or the alteration really fits you as you want it to fit. He work is very precise and her workmanship is second to none. There are many garments I would only trust Jo Ann to alter as they are complex and expensive. You can get those wonderful pieces out of the closet and actually wear them again if your size has changed.

I just want to tell you that I’ve received so many compliments on my new coat….the design, the execution, the fabric! We had book club this morning and of course I wore my new coat which was loved by everyone. Thank you again for doing just a wonderful , creative, and perfect job on my coat. Amazing to work with! Jo Ann is the best seamstress I have found. Her attention to detail, her thoughtful communication and her delightful personality are just some of her stand-out qualities. I have never been able to find ready-made pants that fit, so having ones that are fashioned just for me is like a dream come true! I cannot stress it enough -- Jo Ann is simply the best!

Jo Ann has style, talent, and the ability to relax you in that most stressful time - before your wedding! I arrived on her doorstep a tensed-up mess with a dress that needed work, and she calmly explained my options. The dress came out beautifully and it apparently took the breath away from everyone when I turned the corner at our outdoor wedding and came up the walkway. "You looked like a beautiful cloud," remarked my mother later. Her prices are very reasonable, too. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a talented designer to turn a dress into a work of art!

Brilliant and Gifted... doesn't even begin to describe Jo Ann and her work. With her expert skills, a sad, worn-out vintage coat of my younger daughter's was brought back to life - now it is sophisticated and 'uber-chic' as my daughter would say. Jo Ann is not only fantastic with challenging alteration jobs, she is amazingly creative in designing unconventional projects - like the dance bag she made for my oldest daughter. It is truly a work of art! Jo Ann has a sparkling personality and is very charming and fun to work with. Her love, enthusiasm and mastery for what she does is clearly shown with each and every project. I feel blessed to have met Jo Ann and look forward to more fun projects in the future. She is a treasure!

Jo Ann is a superb tailor and on time. I have had several items altered and have been very satisfied. She had some difficult things to do for some slacks and she was successful and helpful. All that and she is good natured and pleasant to be with. I can recommend her without reservation.

Just a quick note to thank one of the behind-the-scenes people who was more than instrumental in making the bride's day wonderful on July 11th. As you can see from the photos, the dress fit absolutely perfectly and I received copious gushing comments about how "that dress was made for me." Well, it was!
